അതൊരു വലിയ കടലായിരുന്നു. പഞ്ഞി പോലുള്ള വലിയ തിരമാലകളും ഇളം നീല വെള്ളവുമുള്ള കടൽ. കടലിന്റെ ആഴം കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടോ? കുറെ താഴെയാണ്. അവിടെ ഇരുട്ടാണ്. സൂര്യപ്രകാശം അവിടേക്ക് എത്തുകയേയില്ല. എന്നാൽ അതിന്റെ തൊട്ടു മുകളിലായി നല്ല ഭംഗിയുള്ള പവിഴപ്പുറ്റുകളും വർണക്കല്ലുകളുമുണ്ട്. നല്ല ഭംഗിയുള്ള ആ കടലിലെ എണ്ണിയാൽ തീരാത്ത മീനുകളിൽ ഒരാളായിരുന്നു ചക്കുടു. ഈ ചക്കുടുമീൻ കര കാണാൻ പോയ കഥ കേട്ടോളൂ. അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് ലക്ഷ്മി പാർവതി.
