പണ്ട് പണ്ട്, ഒരു വലിയ പുഴയുടെ തീരത്ത് നിൽക്കുന്ന മനോഹരമായ ഒരു അത്തിമരത്തിൽ ഒരു കുരങ്ങൻ താമസിച്ചിരുന്നു. ആ മരത്തിലെ തേൻ പോലെയുള്ള മധുരമുള്ള അത്തിപ്പഴങ്ങൾ കഴിച്ചാണ് അവൻ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നത്. അതേ പുഴയിൽ തന്നെ ഒരു മുതലയും താമസിക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. കുരങ്ങൻ ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ മധുരമുള്ള പഴങ്ങൾ പറിച്ചു പുഴയിലേക്ക് ഇട്ടു കൊടുക്കും. അങ്ങനെ അവർ നല്ല കൂട്ടുകാരായി മാറി.

The monkey would occasionally pluck the sweet fruits and throw them into the river. In this way, they became good friends.
