It's that time of year when everyone, well almost everyone is dreaming of premiership success for their club. Come a Saturday, September twenty seventh, later this year, welcome to the twenty twenty five AFL Today Season Prediction Show. I'm your host Alex Donnelly and I'm my far right. Your far left. If you're watching on YouTube, is someone who's not dreaming of premiership success. He just wants a final win. It's Essendon Van Marcus Barzan.

I welcome in. Marcus.

Or may not be dreaming about a premiership, but I am dreaming about CaCO and Caddy, about forward line.

That hell good, that's very fair. I'm getting sur at first as well. That we go on the far and then in the middle. He's over the honorable losses. He wants results from his beloved North Melbourne.

It's Lee Mcallian. Hello, stats guy.

Yeah, let's go PREMI six, we'll talk about premiership So North twenty twenty.

Five, let's let's do it.

Nor IFLW show is coming back later this year, that's when the North Melbourne success will come.

I just want to win in like the first month, just to make me feel.

Something one within you and you were talking up against the door one.

Well you can you?

Yeah, Alex has got in my head with that. I'm a bit confident for stupid reason.

Remember when I said two years ago you were unbeatable in round one against West Coast and what happens toat's.

Guy one the mighty power of West Coast.

I still have that photo on my phone from you with your scarf.

Yeah.

The amount of times I've set my mates like picks after a game of just like maybe after spicy, but.

Six times in the past two years, guys, Yeah, many times.

Anyway, as said, this is the season prediction show, so we've got your ladder predictions, final picks, award winners, your biggest surprises and flops and everything else that you can think of here on the AFL Today Show. Now, make sure you are following the AFL Today Show on x, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. It's AFL Today AU and I think it's Aussie Rules Today on Facebook and of course on YouTube. Just type in AFL Today everything ll come up there. Make sure you subscribe, hit the notifications bellt because we'll be doing a bunch of footy content all season long. Yes, now, stats guy before we get into the season preview, let's rip into the news. This is your area or the news guy. I'm just making it up as I go.

I'm happy to that I did write some of these in the first one off of the list because this is just really weird to me, justin Longmo's contracting session. So obviously the Freo coach, just I am still confused at wording.

The wording of it. Do you you know a bit more about this than either, but it's a bit weird.

Yeah, So it's not really an extension because I think he was out of contract either this year or end of twenty twenty six. But basically they've changed to like an employer type contract, which is like what we are on here, where basically they're like, yeah, performance review time, you're not up to snuff, You're we're making the coaching position redundant.

Get out.

Yeah, it's basically reading between the lines as if Freer don't go well this year, they can get rid of Longmal and not have to pay him out as much as they would if he was contracted to say the end of twenty twenty eight.

It's that, Yeah, you get your six weeks and go.

We're all big you're big on for Oh they don't go well, I reckon he's gone.

No, I don't think they're in the top four. But if they don't make finals, was a world of trouble. Yeah, yeah, agreed on that one.

Another news. This is all Marcus wants to talk about. Coco. He was awesome.

Isaac CaCO is the second coming of Steven Mill and Simmer say he's gonna.

Win the cold Nah, I'll come down. He'll probably say that.

Four goals in the preseason versus the Cats even producing Gerald's like, who's this little guy running around? Like everyone's taking notice of CaCO? Fans have your body's jersey yet.

I'm wondering if replaced this last time I was on the AFL show, stitched that up.

Put the number ten on the back of beautiful.

Oh very nice.

Yeah yeah he did.

It's it's February, Like, I'm not getting not getting carried away?

How much have you put on him for the column?

Five grand?

Of course, that is in monopoly money and is not in all a real reflection of Marcus's betting activity.

No, Paddy Dangerfield does that's guy.

Yeah, he's gonna line up at full forward for a lot of the season, Chris Scott has said, to be fair, I don't trust the word that comes out of Chris Scott's mouth in preseason because he loves like saying, Oh, this guy's going to play and then he pulls him out, Oh this guy's going to play here. But dangerfield last season, last few seasons, looked a bit injured, like a lot of older players.

To fit injured, was injured.

He was injured and the even when he was playing, And I don't mind that. There was a few times in his career where he's been injured. He just goes floats against Hargans hooks Easter Monday kick six when he was playing midfield for half the game and then he went forward.

I don't mind it.

He's a big guy, but it'll just be interesting to see if he can kick like a couple.

Of goals game missing a trick in the midfield though Tom Mkins is the only big body.

Mid Yeah, Bailey's rolling in like his a bit outside as well, homes that's true.

Just stay out of Jess's way. Danger Get out of his way, will be up. Stay out of Jesus way.

It's Jessus fifty and Pagan's paddic Yeah, get out of his way.

Yeah, I like it.

And then last one, I'm actually very excited for this because I love Jim Steins. There's a Jim Stein's game announced, a Jim's game they're calling It's on to the Legend on Saint Patrick's Day Eve Round one Adelaide Melbourne Verse Adelaide three twenty on a Sunday.

March sixteenth, the day before Saint Patty's Day.

Can we get a Guinness at the G that'd be nice. Imagine a Guinness that would be good.

I know someone who works for the MCC I'll send it either.

Yeah, that'd be awesome.

But with all the power that we both have, if the light pick.

Is costing your twelve bucks that I did a.

Would you pay fifteen bucks for a pint of guinness?

Absolutely you'd already paid. I paid twenty bucks at the G.

Absolutely absolutely not.

But I love that they're doing this for Jim.

Stop.

Jim Duns should have like a game every week.

Legends being announced as a legend at the Melbourne Football Club as well, so they're all of fame.

So he's in the actually deserved all of fame as well. He's obviously done a lot off the third. He was the last ruckman to win a Brown though as well, which is pretty cool.

It will never happen again, just in Jerry won't anyway.

That's the that's the news. That wasn't too much but a bit of fun.

There a lot going on there, so we'll rip into this. So we're just we've got our thing here. We've got vibes, lader predictions every every which way. So we'll start off with the vibes, because let's be honest, we're big on the vibes here on the AFL Today Show.

Absolutely, and it's pretty obvious.

I thought, who the biggest team this offseason has the vibes? And then they played a practice match against the Indigenous All Stars and that has been Freemantle. Who are my big off season vibes team? And you had the most vanilla person of all time? Go and go.

Yeah, we played pretty boring and didn't want to show it. Show them up.

I mean justin your looks pathetic and got to run off your legs. If that's what free are going to serve up this year, you'll be out of a job come tax season.

But it's it's just an exhibition game.

I'm not going to read too much into it. Like, no one in their right mind, even three your supporters will probably wanted them to win. Everyone one of the Indigenous All Stars to win.

You want to go something fair enough, fair enough?

Yeah, horrible, that's your vibes.

Yeah, I've got vibes on free.

I think that they're set up to make a run for the top four this year for sure, But that's gonna go the vibes other than.

Their horrible home kid the Gold Coast Sons, I'm going Gold Coast Sons biggest off season vibes.

I don't know.

Just Dimmer just seems like a happy guy. He's got some medicine that helps him. I think you'd be a bit happier.

Aditional person for it.

Sorry, I probably shouldn't have gone there.

But uh, their social media I think has been really good. Dimmers up and about, they've got fresh, new long contracts. I think everyone just seems really happy up there. I don't think they're going to go that well, but they're just seem really happy.

And I love so that. I hated their kids, so the vibes were a little bit down for their new kids. They got that pink.

That's the game one.

And then they've got just make it.

Your home kid.

Yeah please, we talked about it the other day. The Captain's shot all these cool kids and then you've got this red paint thing thing just in the corner, like come on. But other than that, I really like their social media, which helps the vibes.

So you know when Homer got the shotgun for March, it's kind of like that. It doesn't work.

It doesn't work.

I don't know why, but for so long, two weeks now, I've been getting done. You really like looking for mud crabs getting worms out of the sand at the beach on myre TikTok for ages and it's so fund how.

He's enjoying life, like he's just got out of Richmond and it's a sunny around on the Gold Coast.

Who are your vibes? Bart?

Similarly, for the social media funny, I'm going to go to the GBS Giants. They've got the best social media team as in the competition, and I also think they're going to do very well this season. So my big off season vibes is genius.

Yeah, there was the other reasons why they weren't, but the actual social media starte.

Is very good.

Yes, yeah, and then we go from the vibes and then we go who are we feeling good about? Australia is like this team, Yep, I'm feeling good about their their off season, what they're going to do. So it's the opposite to the vibes. It's sort of what we've brought on from twenty twenty four rolling into twenty twenty five. Who are like, yep, that's them next year. It's pretty easy for me. It's Hawthorne. We saw how well they finished off last year. They're a kick away from making a preliminary final. They've brought in Tom Brass and Josh Battle Stars. Yeah, they've short started stars, They've shot up their defense, They've already shown that they can kick scores. Like so it's like, okay, if players like Ginevan Watson, will Day and a couple of others all around there improve again they are top four finishes. Personally, I think they may just miss the top four, but it's that is their next step of progression.

Yeah.

I like that.

The Hawks.

Yeah, I think the season is going to be a bit tougher, but I do agree that you're feeling good about it because they can't. I don't think they can go too far backwards. They look they're all young, they're on the right, so that's.

Not too bad.

I'm looking I'm feeling good about Geelong. I know a lot of people.

That's not the most advantage thing to say, but their off season moves, I think we're really good.

Their vibes.

I've always got a bit of swagger, like Bailey Smith's just rocking a headband.

Je looks He's just very funny.

Like every if you follow anyone on social media, there's post weird photos of anything. Just everything about them just feels good. They feel up and about, they feel really fresh. A few younger guys, older guys out younger guys in So I think I feel good about Joel.

Okay.

I know a lot of people make fun of this, signing the Jack Martin one. Yeah, I think that's a very very good bit of business. Yeah, giving up anything. Yeah, you just got to stay fit.

Which you never But he's not he's good play keep doing it.

Some of the best players in the off season farm. Do you want a piece of land?

Of course?

Do you want some free T shirts? Got a guy you got a guy. Who are you feeling good about?

Marcus? I think Collingwood. There's big talk they kind of have to do.

I don't considering the average age was at twenty six or twenty seven something like that.

At ten dudes over thirty.

Yeah, and their accuracy even I was gonna richmen, But last time was that the twenty goals one.

At some point I watched five mans and turned it off.

That one was a rush too.

Yeah, yeah, exactly.

I think I think Dan Houston is just going to add another little bit of element off half back to worry about if you keep personally, I think keep Nick Dekos on the other half back flank and you've got a couple of real weapons there.

So deep on the flip side, who aren't we feeling good about? Like this could be from This isn't the bad vibes, This is just who we're not feeling good about.

Because I'll say bad vibes as well, the bad.

Vibes team could have been GWS given you know, they're off season, and then again then they signed Jack Stringer. Anyway, I'm feeling bad about the Saints, and I feel bad for the Saints because it feels like a constant punch down on them. But you have a look at that injury list already. With Google Howard out for a long period of time, you've got injury concerns around Nas Sinclair, the Pooh's out King today has been announced that he's having knee surgery.

Roland Marshall's been touch and go all pre season.

Like. They've still got Rosslne as a coach.

Their training center is elite. It is a fantastic set, went down to Park, It's fantastic. But yeah, don't feel good about their prospects this season given all these injuries.

It's just not great.

Yeah, not fair. Coll I'm going to go Port Adelaide.

I wouldn't have said this if Butters didn't get injured a couple of days ago.

But he's going to go with knee surgery.

He's going to be out for at least a couple of weeks to start the season.

You've got Marshall out for the whole year, so there's literally, yeah Todd Marshall, if you've literally got probably just George yard Is that's going to be able to kick goals and they will yeah, oh yeah, look I mean big forwards.

But yes, I forgot about.

We love WILLI will kick a few goals, but then they just rely on their start plays. Like unless Butters and Rosie have thirty and two goals, they very rarely like win games. So I'm very worried about them because they're probably thinking, oh, it's Ken's last year, We've got to.

Do something for Ken.

He's not enough.

I think he is enough. But they're just the injuries and then their depth is there.

So I'm worried about even their swing men radically and yeah, both both.

Yeah, so their back lines cooked, their four lines cooked, and then with Butters out their midfield.

So let me ask you this, just both off the top of your heads, because obviously it's Butters Horn, Francis Rosie and the order for their top three.

You can argue any which way.

That's fine.

Who is their fourth and fifth best player?

You asked me this the other day.

It's a good question, That's what it drops off, because before it was Dan Houston. Yeah, I do share a Will and Drew.

Really that's a good core, only if he can find some consistency.

Yeah, even burgle.

Wins on the rise.

Yeah, he was really good.

I played really good back into the year.

Yeah, good call.

And who aren't you feeling good about? Marcus? Who are I feeling good about?

Well?

I mean, if you've got Luke Beveridge as a coach, I think it's a shoeing the Western Bulldogs similarly, a lot of injuries, way too many injuries and long term injuries as well.

And the vibes around Jamara aren't great. The vibes are Jamara aren't great.

Yeah, you've got players like Jones tralaw out for eight to Tennison.

Look, it is not looking great for the Dogs. Bailey Dale and Ed Richards are both racing a racing to be fit.

For well Richards, so they've been both being great for him.

Yeah it's not Riley Sanders here we come.

Yeah, rises and sliders for twenty twenty four, So who's going to catapults up the ladder and who's going to fall down?

I said I wasn't going to do it. I wasn't.

I reckon.

We did slider last year and you've got.

Exactly the same My slider last year was the dsy nailed it.

Yeah that's true.

Cool.

I can't believe we're doing it, but the Gold Coast sounds let's go I literally said this time last year, I'm never doing this again because they don't win outside of Queensland. I'm a truth twentieth I'm a truth of stats guy. I'm a Gold Coast truth.

These aren't predictions. We're just spoiling the season for you. Yeah, this isn't a prediction. This is a spoiler. Gold Coast Top eight Baby, they will rise up the ladder. On the back of it, Jed Walter, on the back of really Johnny Noble, stupid sexy Flanders Matte round end of the show. For end of the show, Ned Moyle, who's pushing Witzy for just what is the number one?

Big Mac Andrew, Big.

Mac Andrew, Sam Collins. I'm just gonna name the whole Teamland. Let's go Johnny Noble and I already said the weapon. He said, yes, No, they are set up.

If I don't know, never again.

If Gerald two fifty eight PM on the twenty seventh of February, Alex Donnelly said, never again.

If it doesn't happen this year.

Jerald's messaged me. He said, I don't care.

Shut that man up, time stamp it, put it on socials.

Oh my god, there we go. There we go, my rise are not gold coasts? Can I say that?

Nah?

I'm going Freeman or.

Is my main one?

Obviously everyone's talking about Freeman, which said.

You can go.

You gotta pick one, wow, big one.

Alright. I was just gonna's just have a stat that everyone we always talk about.

Do you tell your girlfriend she's the main one?

And then the other one is hey, yeah, yeah big one?

How did you know that? No, No, we love missus status lady.

We won't say her name and doctor, but Missus Stats Lady is.

A great lady. A anyway we'll go, we'll find.

I'll go for Since twenty fourteen, at least one team outside the top eight has entered the top four the next season.

That's a good stat.

That's the one I wanted to bring up.

So that's why I was going to say Freemantle and collingwod because I think they can both push into the top four and it usually happens.

Was just at least one. So who came out on the top to make the four? Last year Sydney made the final. Last them didn't make the top four.

Hang on, I can't remember. Let me let me get back to you on that.

But I think the riser is definitely free because they're going to come from just nowhere, really and you're going to yet.

Charged because Collingwood did it the year before.

I literally went through it because I couldn't have line.

Maybe GWS did it in twenty twenty three, the Swans did it in twenty and twenty three, twenty twenty.

Two long missed finals.

Yes, yeah, they did the very finished the after Yeah, after they missed.

Yeah, good stat stats, go Marcus, go for it Collingwood. I can't believe none of you guys have mentioned the ship, but they tried. They missed out on the finals last season, and I've got off.

I'm a banker for top four.

Yeah, I agree, Wow, a banker.

I love how this season there's so many different massinations where everyone has so many different ideas on different teams. See this, you're not You're all on the Collingwood tw not at all, which we'll get too later. So then we go to the Slider and this is interesting because later on we get to our like rundown of top fours and everything else. This is where we're completely different. So my slaughter is the GW West Giants like him. No, it's honestly, not that they went out in straight sets last year. They've they've lost coming Perryman and the other guy, the other guy that went to Adelaide as well Peeling. There's three three decent squad players that they're going to miss out on, and they've bought in Jake Stringer, Jesse Hogan. Kenny kick eighty goals again in a season, probably, but you're relying on Aaron Cadman to lift. Toby Green was awful last year. Stephen Kennelio has been injured for as long as you now. We've got Tom Green who's out for the first month as well. Briggsy was injured all last year. Sam Taylor has never played more than sixteen games in a season, but he hasn't done it for the last three years. And then they had those debilitating finals losses where they should have won both of them, they found a way to lose. And then I know, I don't really pay much attention to preseason. They got smashed by the Swan like horrendously smashed by the Swans. I'm concerned that that they've hit the tipping point and you're on the downhill.

How long can you stay up there? Though? Before before.

That's what Alex said.

That's my thing.

But I think they've got what.

I'm saying the other way. I'm saying just a moment of time before they actually win.

They've had the chances to do it and they've proven that they can't do it well.

I think they got the best full line in the competition. Yeah, and they've got the best defender in the competition yep. And I think the midfield I remember as one of very solid a team in.

The West have the best forward line.

The other team in the way man Yeah, oh sorry, yeah, I was thinking I don't know why.

Why would that's the best? Yeah, that's fair.

And speaking of they're your slader stats.

Slider, my dad and brother will not be happy with this.

Yeah, Bulldogs, they are my big slider from sixth. I think they're going to be well out of finals. They've obviously lost depth, with like the likes of Caleb Daniel McCray. I know that they weren't in the team last year, but when you have all these injuries, you slid in Caleb Daniel with experience, He's slott in McCray with experience. It's not in Bailey Smith, who still will be pretty good and really solid for Geelong. You take all of them out and I don't know, I just don't really rate them. And then the other side, like you said, I don't rate bever anymore. I think he was really good at the start. He just seems like an old gruf found that's done.

It's going to be He's going to be still coaching the dogs when he's eighty.

So I think he was the perfect coach for the Western Bulldogs when he came on board.

Want to fire, Yeah he's done that, but he was, but Grace wasn't born.

But what I mean, he was a great He's a great people manager, like he like got the group up and going and in a great headspace all that, and now it's like kind of sick of hearing the same thing.

He just has excused as good as a man manager is a man man coach.

I don't know how to say that. As he once was. How long do you hold on he won a supremiership?

Yeah, like he needs like it's nice for himself. Also, yeah, you know you're nine years old according to.

Us almost.

And your slider Marcus, well, miss I just swapped basically who we're looking forward to one Poort Adelaide, So yeah, I think.

It's going to be a tough year.

The transition of the coaching We've seen it hasn't worked at previous clubs.

It's worked once technically twice. It's worked with Paul Ruse to long Mind and then Ruse to good One.

Because want a flag. But then Melbourne has fallen off the cliff.

Yeah, but but it's still the transition where Melbourne were to then wear like I know they missed finals last year. You take out last year twenty twenty four, go back the previous six years. How that improved deadily every year.

So I guess it did work for Hawthorne as well and didn't.

I'm just scarred when it happened with us. I guess Carlton fans are also scarred as well.

Yeah, So speaking of that, we've talked about like all those scars and that. So there's the most pressure on a club and or a coach heading into twenty twenty five. So you can have a club as a whole. So Port Adelaide maybe because they absolutely need to win a prelim final or whatever, but for me it's justin long ny Are.

Yep, they've won out and have bought the players.

They've got the players in they've got Now they've got this great forward line with the Miss Tracy and Shy Bolton. That is that's pretty that's say.

That should be one hundred and twenty to one hundred and forty.

Goals at least four, Yeah, an average of forty goals each. I think Tracy can kick sixty, so you can get that up to you can get that up to.

One hundred and twenty to one hundred and forty. Think it's forty three.

But if they don't deliver, because you look at their midfield Sarong Bray Suaw Young obviously they've got Luke Jackson in their Darcy when he's backfit. Their defense is pretty strong. I think they're still one defender short.

Yeah, they're like a big because you've got Luke.

They've all got really classic foots because like Jordan Clark, right, but like they're not the best one on one but like who was a Pierce he's getting a bit older now.

Though, so and a very handsome Bailey bandfield as well. The most pressure is on Justin Longnil. If Frio did not deliver a I'll say top.

Six they need Yeah, yeah, okay, okay, Look, we've talked enough about better.

I've got better written in. We'll go someone different.

I'm actually gonna go VOSSI can I think Carlton fans or Culton fans that I know that I speak to, they're getting a little bit sick of, you know, getting there but not getting there. They could have easily missed out in the finals last season. They should have missed out in the finals last season. And if they don't make Top four with the run that they've got, the picture they've got this year, they play North Melbourne twice, I believe, yeah, probably, I think they play West Coast twice, and they played the Bombers twice, which is almost six wins, right, five wins probably at least if they don't if they don't make top four, I reckon then I think foss might be But.

They've got a lot of injuries.

Like I know again again, can't keep making excuse again.

You're looking at this, You're looking at the fitness staff and the around Vossy.

They've bought in a new fitness stuff this season, their new head of fitnesses. Come mean, since October the first.

It's just ridiculous because the past five six years they've had at least one key player.

Go down with the long term preseason injury.

Whether that' Zach Williams, Sam Dougherty, Adam Cherrup, that's true, that's finish, can't help.

But mich of Us also saved a like Carfief the coffee shop. She get an extra year for that American.

No, the good blow Claus is out now.

And he's got big guns like you, Michael Foster out.

You can be the security guy to walk the new coach down the ground. Who's your who's the who? You got the pressure on? Stats guy? Who are you putting the blow talks?

Because I was talking about last year, I'm sick of Adelaide, So now that I'm talking down Adelaide for a whole month.

That was the worst prediction I've ever heard.

It was.

It was, And that's one thing I don't I think I said this wasn't it was. I'm not even going to go there. Adelaide was supposed to be good last year and that I didn't. So I'm going Matthew Nicks. There's a lot of pressure on this man. They've had zero finals in five years since he's been coached. They haven't progressed up the ladder. Two years ago that were tenth, that was their best, but all the other years were fourteenth, fifteenth, fourteen, fifteenth, twelfth, Like you can't just stay in that little bubble when you've got a really good forward line, a really good.

Midfield also known as the Kilda.

Yes, they they fold will be will be good this year or it should be. I think I think they had a better coach. I think they crumble a lot at the end of games, like when they didn't make finals that year because Sydney robbed them and that was.

Also they should have kicked tight against Colling.

They should have, but they always lose really close games. I think that's part of the coach's problem and I think he needs to go. If they do mentality, like if they don't push at least push, that was a great night.

If they don't push for finals or probably eighth, I think he's gone. So he's a lot of pressure.

Gone there and also a lot a lot of infighting at the club too, like there was a power pool last year at the board as well.

A lot going on there. Did they have an on field scrap as well? A couple of their players last year. Maybe that's good. That's good as long as that's hard man hard big thrill thought podcast.

All right, let's get to the ladder break, and this is one of the most important things here. So we'll talk here about your top four slash six. So like who can sneak who's your top four? And then like another team or two that can sneak in. So I think we're all going to have one team guaranteed that's the same, and it's the Brisbane line. Yeah, correct, ye, I think we've all got them in for obvious reason. So my next team is Geelong the Swan's and then I've got Hawthorne and Frio, So that's my top five. I reckon they'll be settling in the top four this year.

Interesting, I don't don't mind that.

I don't know about the Hawks. I think I do think the Hawks will be good. I just think they've got a really tough fixture.

Who else have you gotten? Who would you subtract? So I've got I've got Hawthorne out, Yeah.

Hawthorne out. I've got Brisbane Collingwood.

I think Collingwood are going to be top three, like top two I'm going to say definitely Frio and then GWS in that sort of fourth to fifth sort of range.

I think I think Jeds can really push up.

I had Carlton in there originally and then since they're because I think they should be good Carton, They've got the list, but they've had all these injuries, so I've taken Carlton out and putting in JWS. I think the same thing as what Marcus said. They're sort of about that pinnacle they've they are still up there. I think you're saying they're going to drop off. I think it'll be maybe after this year or the year after they'll drop off because they've still got good young guys. So I'm saying their top four and then around the mark is Gelong and Sydney. Sidney I'm just question marks about a new coach coming off Grand Final things like that, So I'm putting them just outside the top four, same as Gelong.

I think they could push for the top four, but just outside.

Yep, Marcus, any addition subtractions.

Well, yeah, just come back at the end of the season when this exactly is being onlong in order. Brisbane Collingwood, Judi Biston third I rate them highly online. You and I've gone the Swan's obviously they've shown really good signs and they're always there in abouts yep.

And then fighting for the fourth spot.

Yeah, so fifth and six, I'm going to go freemantle because they have to be there, yep. And similarly the Blues they got a pretty easy fiction and they've got to be there as well.

Yeah, all right, and then the who's in the mix, who's scrapping for those final spots, who's going to miss out in heartbreaking circumstances, Because I'll be honest, I had my ladder, had teams at twelve and eleven down to ten and third team at thirteenth.

I was really as my bottom half of the ladder.

So for mine, no order this it's Carlton, Adelaide, Gold, cost Sons, Giants, Pies, Dogs, D's.

That's that clump from like seven to thirteen. To be really so harsh on JB Western calling with their open.

Actually how Jennivers below Adelaide, I said no order.

Yeah, I was just like, oh, I've done that, Okay, I need to add in this this in this it wasn't there's no order in that. That's just the teams that because in Fantas, I did my my bottom teams after I did my top four, four or six. It was basically the makeup of that because I think those teams are just won't fight for it. But then there's teams who'd like it won't shock like any of these teams. It will not shock me.

If any of them won the Grand Final, well, I would not.

Even in the top like twelve, not the D's not.

If they if they all of a sudden put it together. Clary and Petraka have amazing seasons. Van roy and kicked sixty goals like that won't shock me. They will kick a But if the Dogs somehow later the season catapulled up up the ladder, it's not going to shot me. I'm not hot on the Pies, but again a lot of them, a lot of people are, so it's not going to shock or fit.

Same with the Giants, Thriller.

Thriller could have a season from like the best, one of the best seasons ever.

The same with Carlton, the same with the Suns.

None of it would be like, oh, that's weird, but it wouldn't like, wouldn't knock me over.

I think if the Sun's final would knock me over. But I get what you say. They've got They've got good enough list, the talent.

Yeah, i'll give you that.

I'm going on that.

Yeah, I've got in my sort of seven to twelve. I think pushing for six Carlton, then I've got Hawthorne. I think just the Hawks will just be that bottom part of the eight. They'll definitely make it because I think they've got the really talented list. They's got a tough fixture. Then just outside of the aid, I've got Bulldogs, Gold Coast, Port, Adelaide and Adelaide. I think the like you said, there's going to be a really close part of ladder that just outside of the eight, Bulldogs, Gold Coast and Port they're gonna be really close. And I think it drops off because I think just a Porter, just outside of the eight, they're going to be still well ahead of Adelaide because Adelaide it is just going to be crap.

So I like how Adelaide are going to be awesome this year and that's guy says they will do.

They'll win every showdown encounter one for the last five showdown.

Yeah, I actually wouldn't mind that happening, so hopefully they showdown.

Yeah, it was just that general idea off we should go to a showdown. We are coming to gather out. I can tell you that we are going to be gathering Marcus, your finals contenders.

My finals contenders. Similarly, stats guy, I've got Hawthorne being the bottom part of that eight. They're good enough to make feignals. We've seen that they had an excellent run to the end of last season. They did play I think seven of seven of those nine games. We're against the bottom eight, though, but they show that that footy can stuck up against the better teams as well.

When it got down to finals, Football deleted the Dogs.

So yeah, I think I think Hawthorne will get in. I think Gie Long will scrape incrape scrape, wow, scrape in.

Just I think Shannon Neil is gonna have to have a big year.

I think on TikTok he's Jack, He's a big boy.

He's a big boy. And then I've got Gold Coast, poor Adelaide, the Western Bulldogs and then Essenon being around that twelfth to just outside.

The one for okay, and then obviously we all know what the bottom teams are. If you haven't already noticed that. You should have figured it out by now. I'm Bomber's North, Saints West Coast Richmond Bomber.

Is that low? I wait? Saints below North?

Yep?

Wow, go go go North?

Yeah?

Where is now? That's just not gonna act. I actually want that to happen. I don't know why I'm angry about it.

Yeah, why are you angry that I had?

Because I don't want to get my hopes up. It's just like I think it was like two years before I got this job.

I used to go, yeah, we're going to be good again, and now we haven't had that for three beaten until I see I want.

To see back to back with Nor.

We won in round one and round two and twenty twenty three.

That's what I'm saying. That was, and then was two years ago, and then.

You didn't win until the last round of the year, the one game you didn't need to win.

Anyway, I don't mind that. To be fair, I don't mind that.

If North don't win eight games, then I think seven that's a big than a fold.

I think that's a bit stiff for the bottom like Ford include the Saints. But anyway, I'm going to go. My bottom six is Essendon, Melbourne, Saint Kilda, North Melbourne, West Coast and Richmond. Very similar to last year other than Adelaide I think was around the mark there as well. Yeah, just injuries. And then you've got northmun West Coast and Richmond I think are the clear still three West teams.

Marcus Well, so I've just seen that you haven't got Adelaide in your bottom six. You we they in your twelve to thirteenth is what I put on the graphic.

They're look very high for a second and then they're going to probably win the flag and I'll be.

Like Jordan Dawson, let's go.

I put some money on the side of more bottom six.

I've got Melbourne, Adelaide, North Melbourne, Oh, Saint Kilda, West Coast and Richmond around out same as so.

Richmond have to win the alright, So read out your top twelve in order.

Just go through it. We don't need reasoning, just go through it.

O top twelve Ye, Brisbane, collingwo WS, Sydney, Frio, Blues Hawthorne, Geelong. That's finals and then Gold Coast Port Dogs, Essendon.

Okay, stats guy, your final ladder just read it out. I need to remember what I've I'll do then, so mine. This is what I did from the old a F ladder predictor. Brisbane Lines Minor Premier is Geelong, Sydney, hawthor On, Frio, Gold Coast, Carlton, Adelaide.

There's your top eight and then I've Adelaide to eight.

Yeah, I've got Adelaide last week sixth throw hat we'll get to it. But also in Carlton, Adelaide, g w Wes, Collingwood all on the same wins.

Okay, so good change for five percentage.

Yeah, so by bottom ma g w Wes, Collingwood, Port Dogs, Melbourne, Essendon North and killed out West Coast and Richmond.

That's my final ladder. But also what ladder predictor do you use? That's also squiggle a sponsor you squiggle.

So make sure, as Marcus just said, hit hit us up in the comments, hit us up on the social medias. If you think we've got it wrong, let us know you're positions, hit us up in the comments, or you know you can dm us and yell at us on Instagram and TikTok. It's all good stats guy, you're ladder.

My ladder quickly just Brisbane, Collingwood, Freeman or Jed Ws, Sydney, Carlton, Geelong, Hawthorne and my top eight and then this is it's really tricky just outside the top eight, but I'm going Dogs, Gold, Coast Port and Adelaide round out the top twelve.

All right, you're number one seed. Obviously that doesn't have to be your minor premiere. But we gave you imaginary dollars right now or you just had We had to have a coffee bet who is winning the Grand Final if it's played tomorrow.

I don't like coffee.

After what you've been saying, I feel ashamed to say this. I'm going Gbare that's what.

But that's what I mean. This is what this season there's probably twelve realistically win you how.

Many times you'll disagree with Alex Like every show.

I think once you get miss finals, it's statistically it's not anyone's game. But I think it's anyone's game the finals. We've seen that.

Top and with the forward launch, they.

Don't have to finish first, okay, but to win the premiership if they've got a Ford line of Hogan Cadman, stringer, Toby Green, and then the small blocks as well, like Darcy.

Jones, Harvey Thomas, who was one who's called one hundred and ninety super coach with the last round, Brent Daniels.

Yeah, yeah, they have to be up there and there and be out. They're going to outscore teams more often than they're going to concede more.

Yeah. I like it. And Stat's guy where aligned Brisbane?

Brisbane just like they get those in some of those injured players back obviously not Kitty Coleman.

They've got back in round five.

They've got this young guy, Levi Ashcroff, just another Ashcroft that's going to kill it. Just they're so good and then they get that home advantage. They hardly ever lose at home, so and it's so hard to win up there. So Brisbane got to be for me.

A couple of other teams that you think like that it comes to it will win but like it's like yes, like at the end of the year, one of these teams will have won it.

For me, it's Geelong, Hawthorne and Frio. They're the other three teams that.

Can win the flag.

Yep, I'm never going to say this one's are going to win one ever again until they actually do it.

I've been scarred. Well not for me, my higher team that will not win it. I've got Geelong that no, no, this is who will like, who like, who will win, not who won't.

But I've got them in my won't okay, Geelong interesting, I just don't think they'll do it. I haven't really been like I look at Geelong and I'm like, it's pretty well.

They work well as a team, like they are right in every area they got. They got a star or two in Jessic Cameron thom Stewart. But I just think in the midfield, do they have enough bulling them against the bigger clubs. I don't know. I just I just don't think when we get to the better clubs they win. Who can win it?

Stats man obviously obviously I said Brisbane.

I think Collingwood will win it, and then I'm going to go, yeah, collingoodabeus and Gelo.

I think no longer experience, collin Wood experience pretty exerience.

Now roll into a team that will make the finals but will absolutely positively not win the Grand Final.

Sorry to do this, Alex by Sydney.

It's fine, coach, they.

Were they the best team ever last year they were the top of the line. Never you said that.

I just think that's guard from Pascal, Like, if they make it again, I will put my whole house on them to lose their.

Grandall Mark mccally charen, he does not have a house, sorry my future house.

Yeah, picture house deposit.

No, I'm just joking game responsible of course, but genuinely, I just think that I think they're going to have a really good regular season and then just crumble like later in the finals, just because I don't know.

It's just the Sydney way. At the moment, they will not winning.

As I just said, I'm never tipping him to win a Grand Final again until they actually do it. For me, it's g ws jes fair enough, all right? Hit us up on the socials. Who's your Premiership top tip? Drop it in the comments, tag us on ex Facebook, Instagram, TikTok. Hit us up with your predictions as to who will and who won't win the Grand Final this year, and don't say North Melbourne because we know anyway that's season individual awards. I love this because I've had a look at this. I was like, oh, we're all going to have Nick Dakos. No one's tip Nick Dacos to win the Brownlow Medal this year because I think it's fairly obvious he's the favorite.

He's currently the favorite with all the bookies. Anyway. My tip, I can't believe stats ashes people. If you've got the same thing, that's so yeah.

I'm like, I think I really am keen on him, because if I think it is going to be good, then who's going to be their best player?

Like Caleb's a wrong. Yeah, you can explain why.

All right, Sure, I just think they're going to have a really successful year ahead. I think they're going to get a lot of inside fifties from Caleb's wrong, and he's going to set up a lot of goals. He also had his career best goals last year with it was just eleven.

But he's every year you're going to kick twenty four to twenty five.

Nah, he's not going to keep that many.

But if he kicks like i'd say eight into twenty, that's like the mark of a brown Lea medalist where they go like Crips was kicking a goal of game. If you kick a goal a game, it's just I don't know if the Umpires go, oh, I just want to kick a goal as well as get clearances, and I think he can do that this year because they're going to get a lot more of the ball.

He just he's their best player and if they're going to be top four, he's going to.

Get more votes. So fourth with twenty eight votes.

Like I know we're agreeing on I wasn't going to put him in, but I just I'm very strong on him.

So why not Marcus.

It's time to break the chain. Umpires not caring or giving anything. I swear giving a load of crap about Marcus Bonton Pelly.

Yeah, if the dogs, but if the dogs are going to be worse this year, how is he going to win it?

Because he's that good he's won it. Yeah, but crips were in his first seat when he first won the Brown. Though he's final, he's going to have to have that level of a season and.

He can do it.

He's by far away the top in the top three best players in the competition. He can swing the game in the midfield, and he's going to have to play majority.

He had a career goal tally last year and only got nineteen votes, and he goes it again thirty two.

And the thing is that he can he can go down in the in the forward half for a quarter in a bit and he'll kick forth.

You talk about I hate saying why they deserve it. Marcus Bonton Pelly deserves it. Brown my mouth, he's carried. I'm afraid the window might have closed.

Doesn't need to bring back his long hair to get noticed a bit more.

I don't want to look back in twenty years time and MICUs Bonton Pelly and you're like, oh, remember that blokeout who he was? Yeah, but because he didn't win a Brownlow, no one's going to be talking like that, will be talking about him. But I get what you're saying.

Yeah, Western Boardox fans will talk about him for Chris Grant and.

Get robbed of a Brown like that's a very old one.

But it's an niche one. On Corey McKernan because he got suspended.

He shouldn't been suspend anyway.

Colemen Medal.

I'm gonna make stats guy happy here.

I don't hope, but I don't think so.

Nick Larky to win the Coleman. He had a massive season in twenty twenty three. Obviously dipped a bit last year. I think teams sort of figured him out. But delivery into the forward line wasn't great last year. But you just have a look and go through all of his stat lines. If North Melbourne are going to be better, then Nick Larky is going to be winning a Coleman Medal. You just got to think it's going to happen. He can kick eighty goals. It's not going to surprise anyone can.

And this is why I really like the signing of Jack Darling.

I know you're not.

I agree that he would help.

He will help, He would one hundred help. Went from seventy one goals to forty six last year he kicked seventy one and team that went three and twenty.

If you go sety kick last year kick three game.

Yeah, that's the thing I'm going about because last year was so soft and I actually was really disappointed with him last year.

I know, missing forward, missing chances he would he kicked, but he still didn't kick men.

He kicked forty six fourteen last year, seventy one twenty four of the year before.

It's the most accurate kick almost ever.

I think.

Yeah, so if he can get to the level of twenty twenty three in North number win seven games, he's kicking eighty goals and he's winning.

The Coleman Games.

Yeah, I don't mind that, Sual gidding. Yeah, I'm like seven games. Seven Yeah, that's the total for last three years. All right, Colin medal, I'm going Jazu obviously he's won or before. I think in twenty nineteen, that was a while ago. He's been second in two of the last three years.

And the Cold Metal he's always right up there.

He just said he's going to be up the ground.

No, I said he's gona be send out for He's always set out forward and he can kick goals from out fifty and that's what he's doing. I think they're gonna have more inside fifties with the likes of Bailey Smith. They've got homes is going to be even better form. I think no more Tomahawk. Obviously eating played parts of the year, but that takes away a few goals. Shannon nil is still young, so I don't think he's going to take too many goals off. Jeremy Cameron and yeah, I'm just excited to see Jesse is some celebrations.

Bring back the beer celebration and things like that. That'd be pretty cool.

But I genuinely think he can win the win the Coleman because they're going to be really good and Jess is one of their best players.

So Marcus and I was a bit boring, but I'm going to go Jesse Hogan.

Yeah, you're on the Jitws the Orange Army.

They're very good and their board lines a very good Yeah, TikTok. That's why he's on there. He kicked seventy seven goals last year.

Yep, God, it was good.

Seventy seven twenty six is good reading. And he kicked fifty the year before that as well.

So he's how old is he? He's he's drugging along. I'll have a look.

He's twenty nine now. He will be turning thirty throughout the season, just his prime mate. I think I think he I think he wins it. He goes back to back, especially it helps the Charlie Kerno's out.

For two or three. Yes, yeah, very true, it does well.

One or two all right, the arising Star, the young Guns. You guys are very boring with your prediction because this is one man ray it is yep, this isn't now you go first? One the same Harvey Langford. I'm massive on this kid. He has got a left peg from heaven. The delivery he's going to give to Jacob van Ruin this year. Bailey Fritz is actually going to get on the end of a couple because he's going to be spinning around there. I'm massive on Harvey Langford. I think he is the best player in this draft.

There's nothing better than a left foot.

Mate.

I go for the Sydney Swans and have a left foot. I mean love Yeah.

I like that big Brandon Campbell season in twenty twenty five, some of those down and by Bay Yeah exactly and just yeah, Harvey Langford, big fan, love what he did in his draft season.

Let's go, Yeah, you go first, because I've stolen you.

We've got the same place. It's leby Ashkoff.

I think a lot of people will have the same I will Ashcroft in two seasons can win a Norm Smith medal. And people are saying that LEVI one hundred better than him, nuts and that's nuts.

I don't know what we're going to expect from you.

Have they feeding them at the astros.

So jeez, they're going to Brisbane is going to be so good for years to come.

I know they're going to be so I'm going Levi as well.

I think he's got the I think he's the most AF already player in the draft.

I know that's a very cliche saying, but it's just big.

He just I think he's conversed out of packs already. There's not many like young guys that can do that. Obviously Lawler can do that. He's a big boy smile. He's pretty big too, but I think genuine the size of him converse through packs. It's got really good mentors. His dad and his brother played play for the lines as well. And he's just a ball mag and he's going to get a lot of the ball and I think it yeah be good because he also won't get tacked like I know very rarely dol mcluggage his brother will. You've got so many guns in there that all the defenders like, oh crap, we're gonna stop a Brown their medalist.

Oh I haven't leave.

I ask I'm gonna get twenty touches out of the back and then bang, he'll be out of there.

There's a lot of top prospects as well that are injured, which also helps with the rolls and staff Layla as well.

He's injured. Smile, he's got a knock. I would have had Jagger Smith in here if he.

Yeah, he was just going to win in twenty twenty six.

Maybe if he doesn't.

Do another WHOA, I want the hell I love him an eighteen year old.

He's the best name in the business.

Jagger and Zippy Fish has the best name.

And actually some one today where's Wally? No Wally?

I think it was Dan Goones something from him, but he literally said there's a guy in the waffle that's called where's Wally Well?

And he might be in the A if We's doesn't play in the AFL, Zippy Fish still has the best name across the A fav AFL W Zippy Fish podcast.

Not moving like Jagger anymore? Yeah, oh my god, that's not good anyway. Best recruit I'm going to go.

I've gone left the field with who I think the best recruit is going to be this season? I do because he's underrated. He's your Brendan Butter gets the job all week, and he's someone that will drive standards.

Alex Neil Bullen.

He's already been elevated into the leadership squad at the Adelaide Crows, having been there for three months. That just shows you how well he's rated within the club already. I think he is going to be a big miss for Melbourne this year, that people who don't support Melbourne won't realize him. What are they missing? And then defense, it's Alex Neil Bullen. Like fair enough, he's not your superstar, but he's he'd be one of the first magnets on the board every week he's the.

Best, one of the best B graders in the competition.

Okay, yeah, So like he's a guy every week you know he's going to turn up give absolutely everything. Some weeks he may give you a ten out of ten, but he never goes lower than a six. Every week. You're getting consistent performances out of him. I think he's a great pick up for Adelaide. He's back home, he's happier. Yeah, I think yeah, I think.

Would be very good at all.

You like his consistency talking about someone that doesn't have consistency, but maybe he'll have more for free. I is shy Bolton. I think he's going to be going to have a really good year. I think he's a downhill scale, but that's going to help him at freeer. I think I was gonna have a really good year. He's going to get a lot of forward entries. When the Tigers last made the finals, I'm predicting free we're going to make the finals. When they last made the finals in twenty twenty two, he had forty three goals in season and averaged eight indisposals.

If he can get near that, then that's.

A perfect pick up for free They need a few more goal kickers outside of Tracy, outside of a Miss, just a small guy because they obviously lost Shultz, so they need him to play that Shultz roll, go int the and he's better than Shultz. So yeah, I think he's going to do really well and he's going to be the best recruit.

The only thing is does he stay? Does he get to him in the midfield?

That's what he wants.

Stuff he'll get from I'll kick a lot of five minutes of chaos in the midfield because he's electric.

He's like Tom Papriy, like, go get the ball. Was that enough?

Is that what he wants?

Though?

I think I think.

He's probably if we're talking about the biggest difference between a player last season and a player this season, this feels like ald Beki.

Yes, I love has to be the man with the big heart.

He he was playing being played out of his best position at the Bulldogs under Bevo because he's lost his head. Wasn't even getting a game sometimes he was the emergency sub. But he was going to rack up a lot of the ball this year, and I feel like this frees up Sheesel as well a lot more to come into the midfield if he's needed, if he wants to.

Same with m Kirscher, I don't think he's even the best recruit Nort in the off season.

Luke Parker, I think no, Luke, like Cali Daniels, still will still be good. I know he hasn't been good the last two seasons, but he is such an elite kick that is exactly what we need at.

Nor When Luke Parker will be good. When Tiger goes back with the flight, takes to grab it, iron someone out and stands up straight away, everyone's I.

Do want Luke Parker to kick a match winner against the Swans that would every city Honestly, I'm still sad about it, no, because it's I never thought i'd see in another team's cars.

He's three games away from three hundred.

That's the same feeling with me with Goldie playing at Essendon.

Because I hate I don't hate, I don't hate North, so I'm happy, like, such a good contract he had to take it, but I'm just like, yeah, this sucks fair enough, But anyway, hit us up on the socials. Who do you think takes out the brownow the column and the Rising Star? And even who who is the best recruit? Hit us up ex Instagram or TikTok afl today au. All right, the big call for twoy twenty five stats guy.

Oh jeez, I'm a bit nervous reading these out. First one is I think this is a big call. I don't know if you agree, but Will Dale will be top five in the Brown. I've just thought about it more. Leo, who's on the show as well Social Groi Lea, he's talking up will Day in Super Coach. I think he's gonna have a really good year. He'll be the Hawk's best player. Hopefully he stays fit. So that's probably my first big call.

My next one.

This one, I literally just thought about it now because he's been stiff not to make it. Grind Myers all Australian. I know, people go, oh, he's got a funny kicking action. He gets the most goals is by an absolutely mind in the league. I think he had in the two preseason games or sorry, the first preseason game, I have like thirty something a couple of goals and five goals. This I reckon he is the perfect sort of half forwards more forward to jump in the All Australian team. And he's been underappreciated grind Min it's just because he has a little funny kicking action, so I reckon he can be All Australian and then just calling what are gonna win the flag? That's just I just reckon that's gonna happen.

Will Ashcroft will get more votes in the Browlow than locking you.

Oh wow, I don't know about that. They love locking.

Locking.

You could just like high five of the umpire and they're giving three.

It's why it's called the big Core. It's a time you need sometimes you just need us hand the hand the baton over Marcus.

Yes, well this Hawthorne to start the season one and five.

Jesus, which game do you have them winning?

Because I have the Swan starting one and two or zero and three, and they play each other in opening around next week.

I've got Hawthorne's win against the Bombers in round one, Okay, so I've got they play Sidney away, so I've got that as a loss. That's a coint play the Dons at the g that's a win, and I've got Carlton at the GM. You want to say a loss, g WS and Tazzy, I'm gonna go a loss, so dis before and then poured at Adelaide Oval and then they've got Easter.

They got the Easter game against too long Jesus toture.

That's that's a tough that's a tough for six and they could easily be one in five.

Yow, they can easily be five and one.

Yeah, that's crazy, am ither because North Melbourne to finish above saying.

Let's go, you finished fifteenth.

Yeah it might be like sixteenth, but it's an improvement.

Right North, It's improvement, all right.
