One Republic chose International Justice Mission: a global non profit that protects people in poverty from violence, slavery, and human trafficking. Your organization deals with a lot of heavy, CRAZY things that are happening to people in this world, what prompted the start of this organization? We only see so much on the news...HOW BAD IS IT? What areas? What countries are worse than others in terms of these things happening to people? What can WE DO to stop some of these atrocities? What does IJM do to help people? We are raising $$ for IJM at this concert, One Republic's charity of choice, how did this relationship come about?

• Founded: Gary Haugen founded IJM in 1997 after witnessing the devastating effects of the genocide in Rwanda.
• Headquarters: Arlington, Virginia, United States.
• Focus Areas: Combating modern-day slavery, human trafficking, online sexual exploitation of children, violence against women and children, and police abuse of power.
• Scale: Active across nearly 20 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, partnering closely with local authorities and governments. 

Core Strategy

• Rescuing Victims: Working alongside local law enforcement to pull individuals safely out of abusive and exploitative situations.
• Restoring Survivors: Providing critical aftercare, trauma counseling, medical support, and safe reintegration for survivors.
• Bringing Criminals to Justice: Holding perpetrators accountable through local legal and judicial channels to break cycles of impunity.
• Strengthening Justice Systems: Training police officers, judges, and local leaders so public systems can sustainably protect vulnerable communities on their own
