Aired October 11, 2026: In this interview, Lisa Foxx talks to Lisa Manehim, Executive Director of the Hirshberg Foundation and LACC Race Director, join you to discuss this inspiring fundraiser and the Foundation’s vital mission
WHAT: The 29th Annual L.A. Cancer Challenge 5K Walk/Run (LACC), SoCal’s longest-running Halloween fundraiser, heads back to UCLA. The family-friendly, spooktacular charity event benefits the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the first pancreatic cancer foundation established in the U.S., currently housing three collaborative laboratories on campus.
As Southern California’s longest-running Halloween-themed 5k fundraiser, thousands of runners and walkers will head to UCLA dressed in festive costumes to show support for raising pancreatic cancer awareness. The LACC promises fun for all ages, including the Fit Family Expo, the Candy Land Kids Zone, and Halloween festivities.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest, with the highest mortality rate among all major forms. Promising research will fund early detection methods, which will be key to making significant breakthroughs. Since 1998, the LACC has raised more than $12 million for pancreatic cancer research.
