ഹർഷ കൗമാരകാലത്തായിരുന്ന സമയത്താണു പിതാവ് അന്തരിക്കുന്നത്. തുടർന്ന് ജ്യേഷ്ഠനായ രാജ്യവർധനൻ രാജാവായി. എന്നാൽ ഹർഷയുടെ ജീവിതത്തിലെ നിർഭാഗ്യ കാലം തുടങ്ങാനിരിക്കുന്നതേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളൂ. മാളവ രാജാവായ ദേവഗുപ്തനും വംഗനാട്ടിലെ ഗൗഡ രാജാവായ ശശാങ്കനും പുഷ്യഭൂതി, മൗഖരി രാജവംശങ്ങൾ തമ്മിലുള്ള അടുപ്പത്തിൽ വളരെ അസ്വസ്ഥരായിരുന്നു. ഈ ശക്തി ദ്വയങ്ങൾ നശിപ്പിക്കാനായി അവർ ഒരു ഗൂഢപദ്ധതി തയാറാക്കി. അതു പ്രകാരം അവർ ഗ്രഹവർമനെ വധിച്ചു. ഇവിടെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നത് പ്രിനു പ്രഭാകരൻ, Script: എസ്. അശ്വിൻ
