Dean of Research, UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance, University of South Australia, South Australia, Australia

Professor Alison Coates is the Dean of Research in Allied Health and Human Performance at the University of South Australia. Professor Coates completed her PhD in Nutritional Physiology from the University of Adelaide and is a Registered Nutritionist with the Nutrition Society of Australia. 

Alison’s research focuses on dietary strategies to enhance cardiovascular, metabolic, and cognitive health, including clinical trials funded by industry and government grants. Current projects include studies on nuts and shift worker health. 

A former President of the Nutrition Society of Australia, Alison has authored 140+ publications and mentored over 40 research and honours students.
