"In 2021, (the bodies of ) 18 ghost (miners) surfaced. They were neatly wrapped-up like Christmas presents" - Bench Marks Foundation says mining companies turn blind eye to illegal operations underground.

Today in Rio de Janerio, Brazil, the Brazilian President Lula da Silva will officially handover to President Cyril Ramaphosa. The president has promised to continue to push for the interests of the developing South countries. Meanwhile, the president of the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP 29, Mukhtar Babayev, has warned that initiatives to mitigate the effects of climate change could stall if governments refuse to compromise. SABC News International Editor, Sophie Mokoena, joins us now in studio and SABC reporter, Ditaba Tsotetsi, who is following the conference for us in Azerbaijan.
