For many communities, music has always been one of the ways stories, language, traditions and identity are kept alive. And for artists, that music can become a bridge between generations, connecting what was passed down to us with what we want future generations to remember. That’s part of the conversation we want to have with Thapelo Sefika, better known as Cfikulture, a musician, vocalist, songwriter and performer from Botshabelo in the Free State. His musical journey began in church, later growing through school bands and his own music, and he continues to use music as a way to connect with audiences and express his identity. We’re joined by Cfikulture to talk about his music, his heritage and the importance of preserving what we have.
