Johannesburg has always been a city of contradictions, movement and reinvention — and now, the streets of the inner city become part of the stage. The production moves between the streets of Johannesburg and the theatre, with performers and cameras travelling through the city while their journey is broadcast live to audiences inside the Market Theatre Laboratory. It’s a production that blurs the boundaries between theatre, film and documentary, while exploring a generation coming of age in a world shaped by uncertainty, social change and constant digital connection. Acclaimed Swiss director and writer Boris Nikitin and Johannesburg-based filmmaker, cinematographer and cultural journalist Tšeliso Monaheng join us on the line to speak about what inspire the concept behind create KIDS, an ambitious live cinema production that captures the city  and the young people who inhabit it  in real time.
