After a 16-year wait, the Spanish team is back in the World Cup semi-finals. Spain overcame the challenge posed by Belgium in the quarter-finals with a 2–1 victory. Fabian Ruiz (30th minute) and Mikel Merino (88th minute) scored for Spain, while Charles De Ketelaere (41st minute) netted a consolation goal for Belgium. This marks the first time Spain has reached the World Cup semi-finals since winning the title in 2010. Spain will face France in the semi-final scheduled for the 15th in Dallas.
