By Newsbreak Producer Shanell Daniel - To mark the 50th anniversary of the Soweto Uprising, film producer Anant Singh, actress Leleti Khumalo and Videovision Entertainment have announced the release of a digitally re-mastered IMAX version of Mbongeni Ngema's SARAFINA!. The screening will be released on June 5th and will be showing for one week at selected cinemas across the country. This is in honour of the courageous young people who marched on June 16th in 1976 in protest against apartheid. Khumalo, who played the legendary title role of Sarafina decades ago says the film remains significant and relevant in the current day...
* SARAFINA! will be released on June 5th and for one week at selected show times at the following cinemas: Baywest, Blue Route, Brooklyn, CapeGate, Cedar Square, Cresta, Eastgate, Irene, Mall of Africa, Mooi River, Rosebank Nouveau, Sandton, Somerset, SunCoast CineCentre, The Grove, Vaal, V&A and Watercrest. The tickets to experience Sarafina! at Ster Kinekor cinemas will be at a reduced ticket price of R50 each to make it affordable for the public.
