In South Africa, where over 4 million people live with diabetes, continuous glucose monitors can change and save lives. But not all of these devices are made equally, and their uptake as a lifestyle device has seen cheaper, less accurate devices flood the market. Kirsten de Klerk, Chairperson of SA Diabetes Advocacy, chats to Leigh-Anne Williams about how South African diabetes advocacy groups are pushing for continuous glucose monitor (CGM) access and safety standards.
