Blog—May 15, 2024—9-10—Working on Wellness Wednesday
Very interesting working on Wellness Wednesday---and why not---National Hospital Week and Nurses Week---all at Avera---and Dr. Justin Post---took us thru what they were doing to say thank you.
It gave me a chance to talk about the importance of not only the thank you but look for ways in our rural area---to have people closer to health care. Dr. Post heads up so much at Avera---I’ve just been married to a Registered Nurse for 45 or so of the 50 some years we have been married.
For those of us that are tied to those in Health Care---we appreciate what they do—how they do it-----and yes even the moods they go thru working with Dr.’s and Supervisors----that sometimes don’t give as much loving care to their own employees.
Rural care---the dangers of not getting to the hospital in time with an emergency like a heart attack----or something else---always something that we worry about and with Avera having 300 or so care areas in South Dakota---we are making a difference.
Dr. Post---like we did---asked that we tell those in health care—thanks for what they do—thanks for what they have chosen as a profession whether it be Miller or Sioux Falls.
Craig Lawrence joined us this morning in the 2nd segment to talk about his event—Hope Against Cancer that had 250 people attend. Mr. Lawrence said he had never perceived how important, how sought after is hope against cancer. It is globally universal.
As he explained—we opened the ministry in Philippines and they were staggered to have 23,000 come almost overnight. In Zimbabwe—10,000 overnight.

Mr. Lawrence said since the inception of the online ministry Hopehasarrive.com and connected with 4,301,000 people.

50,000 or so asked if there is a God, how can I ask God For Help. They tremble with fear.

Lawrence shared a recent study showed 91% of women with cancer find their essential hope thru faith-men are at 70%.

Craig left us---with Fait-Fellowship—old words but essential in the fight against cancer. We’ll talk more with him in another time.

9:33---Dr. Allen Unruh---gave us a crash course of some of those he has helped in recent times.
Among them-a bus driver who came in and insisted that he read a testimony for Dr. Unruh on the Red Light Therapy because he had tremendous relief of pain and lost 6 ½ inches and 6 pounds in two visits. He shared he can take a nap under the red light and it melts fat out of the cells.
Dr. Unruh met the second patient at a conference in California at a banquet complaining about his severe neuropathy. He said after seeing 10 different neurologists and being told this something he just has to learn to live with.  Allen shared he too was a neurologist and out of almost 600 people at the dinner they had happened to sit together. There was a zoom with him and equipment for him at home to help him improve.  Some 10 years later he is excited that he can get this condition under control.
So if anybody knows a relative or friend who has neuropathy and pain that just won’t go away in essence that really is everything in life. And remember there is no such thing as a minor surgery---try everything natural you can before surgery.
Just a few of the stories that share what Dr. Unruh has done and continues to do.
Our 4th segment shared the story and plans for Chantelle about the 13th Annual Step Forward to Prevent Suicide on June 8th at Fawick Park beginning at 9AM>
Chantelle shared she lost her dad to suicide six years ago.  With her family they have found it important to be advocates for mental health care and suicide prevention. When someone dies by suicide it doesn’t end the pain, it passes the pain onto the many that care about them and there is always someone that cares. As she it explained that is why events like Step Forward to Prevent Suicide are so important to other survivors with their loss.
We’ll share more as we get closer to the event.
