How To Understand Endo with Dr Kavya

View descriptionShare

The word Endo is becoming more and more commonly heard in discussions around health and period pain. Endo aka Endometriosis is a common disease where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows outside it in other parts of the body.

More than 830,000 of Australians suffer from endometriosis at some point in their life. But the symptoms are variable and the process of diagnosis is long.

But why do we know so little about it? And why does it take so long to get a diagnosis?

Claudia is currently on her own Endo journey, so we thought she was the perfect girl to sit down with Dr Kavya and get some answers.

NOTE: A small correction to the definition of endometriosis stated in this poddy: endometriosis is a condition where tissue very similar to the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) is found growing outside of the uterus.
