Ep113 People Resist Exclusion, Not Change

View descriptionShare

The best ideas don't fail because they're wrong—they fail because people weren't part of creating them. Leaders often spend weeks refining a change before announcing it, then wonder why they face resistance. The problem isn't the change itself; it's that everyone else is hearing it for the first time. Lasting change comes from involving people early, listening to their concerns and giving them a sense of ownership.

Before launching any initiative, identify who will be affected, who holds influence and who may need extra support. Great leaders don't rely on authority or perfectly crafted presentations—they build trust through curiosity, conversation and collaboration. After all, people are far more likely to support a solution they helped create than one handed to them.
