The Hill Country Classic begins today at Geneva for basketball showcasing some area talent alongside the Eagles teams. The boys and girls teams for Geneva each have 2 games today, beginning as early as 11:30. 

A handful of players received 2nd Team awards for Geneva football. Earning TAPPS 2nd Team All-District and Academic All-State are Parker Eiland and QB Caleb Quitatamo. Earning 2nd Team All-District and All-District Honorable Mention is LB Ian Jayroe.

And in college football bowl season: two wins for Texas programs on Saturday- Houston defeated LSU in the Texas Bowl 38-35, and North Texas, who finished #25 on the last AP Poll of the season, defeated San Diego St in the New Mexico Bowl, 49-47.
