Reminiscing on the clinching Game 2 for the Boerne Greyhounds last Friday, Hutson Hendrix had the RBI single that drove in the 1 run, winning the game and sweeping Bishop. Kerry Barboza of the Boerne Star caught Hendrix after the game and asked him about that play.

And this is also a good piece of trivia to go along with this series- The Greyhounds credited a ‘rally turtle’ for their sweep. It’s true- all over the local news was the story of a turtle they found in the parking lot that brought them luck. If he’s going with them this week- he needs a name. I wonder if they will name him- if not, change the school’s mascot for a day.

We know the times and venues now for the regional final series against Calallen- Thursday at 7 will be game 1 and SAISD Sports Complex will house it. On Friday, we play game 2 down at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi- that game will start at 7 as well. Game 3 location and time is to be determined at the moment. The San Antonio Gunslingers just fell short to the Bay Area Panthers Saturday Night, 42-31 was the final score. San Antonio now has a bye-week in which they will head into with a 4-5 record. Good news is there’s still a lot of season to be played.
