Elizabeth Leachman once again set a personal record at the Nike Championship Mile this weekend with a time of 4:44. She finished in 2nd place taking the silver medal for the event…the only high schooler in the field.  She has the next few days to prepare for the Olympic qualifiers coming up in Oregon- it’ll all go down this Friday. 

It’s time to highlight the 3rd individual on Boerne ISD’s Athletic Hall of Honor Class of 2024- or should I say, team- because it's the 2008 and 2009 Charger Boys Cross Country teams. In the school’s infancy, these guys were dominating the tracks, winning back-to-back district championships and regionals. In 2009, they went on to win the Nike Nationals by 6 points against a school from Spokane, Washington. They were also the first in school history to win a state championship. 

On October 18, the class of 2024 will be inducted at a luncheon in their honor. 

Our San Antonio Gunslingers narrowly pulled away with the victory Saturday night in Massachusetts- 52-51 was the final score against the Pirates. Getting down to the wire in the regular season, San Antonio is 6-5.

The San Antonio Brahmas had their potential championship run cut short by the Birmingham Stallions last night in the UFL Championship game. Brahmas just couldn’t find themselves the entire way through and lost 25-0. But like the good old saying suggests, “There’s always next year.”
