And some special Boerne Radio Friendly Birthday’s today…born on this date in 1903 - Bing Crosby - in 1919 Pete Seeger - in 1933 James Brown plus Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons turns 90 and Austin resident Christopher Cross is 73 today…all of these artists’ music lives on…on Boerne Radio… And even tho’ she’s not known as a singer - she was loved by generations - she lived her last days in Boerne…  Born on this date in 1926 - the late great Ann B. Davis of Brady Bunch fame as Alice.

Yesterday at the Center was the Mayor Prayer Breakfast for the National Day of Prayer where over 100 gathered and broke tortillas with potatoes and beans from Bill Millers.

It was the first Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast with Mayor Frank Ritchie and the first one in Boerne since well before COVID.  Mayor Ritchie said it’s a pretty big deal that with the state of the union, anything we can do as community leaders to bring our city together is a ripple effect for our state and country.

At Noon the official National Day of Prayer event in the Main Plaza started in the rain as another 100 faithful arrived and heard proclamations and prayers from other community leaders including State Rep Ellen Troxclair.

Besides tomorrow being the very important Election Day, and besides tomorrow being May the 4 and the world famous Star Wars Night at The Richter which by the way my  wife and I will be at,  tomorrow is also Lemonade Day here in Boerne - another great reason to come downtown with a pocket full of 1 dollar bills and sample as many cups of lemonade from 75 kid entrepreneurs at their decorated stands wall to wall on the Hill Country Mile on Main Street.  A new Youth Entrepreneur of the Year will be chosen when the event ends at 2pm…booths open at 11.
