Wellington's All Sport Breakfast tweet Adam Cooper thanks to Rutherford and Bond Toyota and King Toyota on news Talks. It be awesome to have your company to Saturday morning here on the All Sport Breakfast wile it is club Rugby finals day for Wellington today. Let's bring in Max Rodgers from the Wellington Rugby Union. Who's going to give us all the information. Pottydoor Park is where all the action across many different grades is taking place across the weekend morning toa Max. And obviously we'll get to the Hardam Cup and Jubilee Cup games shortly, but plenty of other grades having deciders today. Can you run us through exactly how things are going to pan out through the day.

Yeah, hey yeah, sure thinks. So we've got our under twenty one grades. They'll be decided today in our premiere two competitions as well. We'll start out in the Division two for the under twenty ones for the Vic calson I Memorial Cup being contested on the number two field between Northern United and put them up at plymouthon this game on the number two field. And then in the Division one Johnny Kelley Memorial Cup. We've got Hut Old Boys Maris taking on Tawa, this game kicking off at one fifteen pm on the main field. And then in the Premiere two competitions for Division two we've got Oriented on the Tie taking on Upper hout Rams. This game is being played on the number two field, kicking off at one pm, and then following that on the number two fields. For the Cheney Cup, we've got Old Boys University taking on Tawer at three o'clock pm.

Great stuff, yet a lot of grades being decided at those two teams. Great depth obviously on show there because those will be the two teams contesting the Jubilee Cup a little bit later on in the afternoon. Max, Let's go to the Hardam Cup though, because in just a few hours time it's an eleven fifteen am kickoff for this one. Part of matter plummets and up against why are we your marta?

Yeah, and nearly kickoff for the Haarda Memorial Cup today, part of much plymos and they've never won the Hardm Cup before, so somethings are really playful for them today. Why do in Martha They last won the Hardam Cup in twenty twenty and the last time the two who sides came up against each other, it was put them up to Plymouthon beating one way Martha in a close twenty two to nineteen win in round thirteen of the Swindale Shield.

Brilliant stuff right eleven fifteen for that one. And then the big one right a little bit later in the afternoons three fifteen at Jerry Collins Stadium, the number one field there at Poty to a Park Max Old Boys University Swindale Shield winners against Tawer. How do you see these two teams stacking up?

It said to be a great final today, Adam, Yeah. Both teams have tracked along really nicely in the second half of season, obviously done well enough to make it to the big Dance. They've played each other twice this season, winning one game each. The last time out it was Tawa that beat Old Boys University by one point in the qualifier qualifying final for the Jubilee Cup. The last time Tawa won the Jubilee Cup was in twenty twenty one and Old Boys University last one at the year before them in twenty twenty.

Wonderful well, three fifteen it gets underway, all the coverage with updates and the final scores with the winners announcement coming here on News Sogs. He'd beat this afternoon.

Max.

For anyone that wants to get along today, just tell us what your advice is, you know, just any information that people should know if they're planning to hit out there today.

Best advice is get out there as early as possible. There's plenty of rugby on show and a lot of people are going to want to be there and car parks will fill up quick, so get in. There will be a big day, so get amongst it.

Awesome, Max, thanks for the preview in fitting us in and been a busy week for you getting all set up, so thanks for your time and maybe we'll chat once more to wrap the season next week when some of those results are and we can look back on the year.

Yeah. Perfect.

Cheers Adam, Cheers Max.

Max Rogers from the Wellington Rugby Union. We'll time now to quickly check in with both those Jubilee Cup final teams. Thomas George is the TAWA forwards coach. Thomas. Morning to you. I want to ask how much confidence you and the team have after being able to Pip ob you the top qualifiers into the Jubilee Cup by just one point in that game a few weeks ago.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was a big, big surprise. I guess everyone, well, we we knew obviously getting a couple of the boys back from Super there was a big pass and you've kind of lid the lid, the lid the way the swindow shield around and we knew it gonna be a big class and want something to pull away and then get the result. Years I was obviously there. We we were a little bit staked ourselves as well, but we we knew it was gonna be a hard husk.

Any names in particular that you know, you feel like could be big saxes for you in the final today, anyone that we should look out for on either the score sheets or just making a real impact.

You can't go past obviously our super boys and a hockey p J Shake, Hugo Plumber, what's up and coming, mature Emire.

We also young fellows in there, Jacodnia Yeah, man all around. There some good guys in there, but you know, you always can't go past. I'll our two veterans and Hemi Formanas and Randall Bishop.

What do you think the strengths are that's going to give you the edge to hopefully lift the cup?

For Tower today, I'd say it would be probably a four packs, always kind of renowned for having good backs, the kind of checking around this last couple of seasons, I thought they're actually.

Being really big and stroll. But the main thing is was a mobile as well, So forward will probably be main.

File with the awesome Thomas. Well, thanks for joining us this morning and all the best today, Thomas George, the Tawa forwards coach ahead of the Jubilee Cup Final. Their opponents Old Boys University Anthony who Tires the coach of OBU Anthony. That loss to Tower just a few weeks ago, it meant you had to play an extra game rather than skip a week and go straight through to the semi finals. But could have there actually been an advantage having to play that extra game?

Yeah, I believe so. I just think it didn't allowed to become a complacent, you know. And and again apart round for another good team, we're really hard to get the W on that match. So yeah, I think yeah, everything's just contributed and we've been able to identify areas that we need to be better to get to this final and execute.

Obviously, what means more to the team is it finishing off with a jubilee cut when you know, and where does that rank to the swin Dale Shield title that you were awarded just a couple of weeks ago.

Well, you know, both trophy or shield and trophy are obviously really important to us. But you know, we're really pride ourselves this year just on our one heard approach, you know, one community. The main focus for us has been a connection throughout this season and you know, just yeah, just experiencing this as a group, I think as a you know, a real focus for us.

What are the strengths of Old Boys University from the season, Anthony, or even ones that have built up in the last couple of months leading into this final. Where do you think you know you're best on the part.

Well, I think we're a team of all ability, if that makes sense, So we can play sort of you know in close game, edge game or kicking game. We've got skills across the park, which I think is a real strength for us. And you know, just looking at the season, how it's evolved over the season. Just to encourage these young lads and the coats have you know, it's just been incredible and yeah.

Awesome Anthony. Well, thanks for chatting this morning and go well today as well. Anthony there who tied the coach of Old Boys University. They're taking on Tower Potty Too a Park three point fifteen kick off this afternoon at the Jerry Collins Stadium area of Pottydo a park, get along if you can and support both those teams. We will have coverage of the game right through the afternoon here on Newstalks EDB.
