After uncertainty over their future, the Wellington Regional Sports Awards will return this year under a new organising model.

Nominations are now open for the awards to celebrate excellence, contribution and community spirit – honouring over 40 years of sport’s impact on the Wellington region.

Nuku Ora CEO Andrew Leslie joined Adam Cooper to discuss the focusses for this year's event, to be held in late August at Wellington College.

A new model of broadcasting grassroots sports has been launched by a Wellington company. 

Mauri Productions have launched their new network via YouTube —Kiwi Sports Network— where they want to support grassroots sport and bring high quality broadcasting of it to viewers for free, not stuck behind paywalls. 

To find out more, Adam Cooper spoke to head of production Cam Rowe.

The White Ferns won Friday's third Twenty20 international against South Africa by six wickets at Eden Park. 

A close finish looked to be brewing as the White Ferns chased South Africa's 149 for seven, with the hosts sitting on 68 for four at the halfway mark of 10 overs. 

But an unbeaten 84-run partnership between Sophie Devine and Maddy Green got the hosts home with eight balls to spare. 

The series now heads to Wellington on Sunday, and Adam Cooper spoke with opener Georgia Plimmer to preview the match.
