The Trump administration is expected to send a delegation to meet Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, following talks between the two sides on the sidelines of last month's United Nations General Assembly.
The renewed engagement comes amid trade tensions after Washington imposed an 18% reciprocal tariff on Zimbabwean exports, prompting Mnangagwa to suspend tariffs on US imports. Meanwhile, US Ambassador to South Africa Leo Brent Bozell remains under scrutiny, with International Relations and Cooperation Minister Ronald Lamola expected to decide on his future.
