Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has been sworn in for a second five-year term. In his address after the ceremony on Monday, Abiy pledged to strengthen Ethiopia's regional influence and reiterated his country's demand for Red Sea access.
The landlocked nation lost direct access to the sea in 1993, when Eritrea gained independence. However, neighbouring countries have maintained that access to the Red Sea and responsibility for it rest with states along its coastline.
