The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund in Mozambique has extended a call for what it calls strategic partnerships to expand access and utilisation of quality health and nutrition services for conflict-affected populations in the province of Cabo Delgado.
The call comes weeks after the Mozambican government stepped in to support residents of the area who, on top of fleeing from violent terrorism attacks, were recently also affected by deadly floods and storms. In response, the government pledged $1.25 million in financial assistance to the region.
Lulu Gaboo spoke to Isabel Maria Pereira Periquito, she is UNICEF's Health and Nutrition Manager based in Pemba.
