A fire swept through the Al-Omda displacement camp in North Darfur, in Sudan, leaving at least 60 families without shelter.

The cause of the fire remains unknown. Earlier reports from the International Organization for Migration (IOM),  indicated that at least 237 families were affected and over 150 shelters destroyed.

Chinese Ambassador to South Africa, Wu Peng, has emphasized the importance of stronger media cooperation between China and South Africa, saying it is key to improving mutual understanding and people-to-people relations.
