60 years ago today, a devastating crash shattered an Ottawa afternoon, and forever changed Canadian labor history. On this day in 1966, the partially-built Heron Road Bridge collapsed, killing 9 workers and injuring over 50. It was one of the worst construction disasters in North American history.
