The beacon of Little Italy, located at the corner of Preston and Beech, has a storied history that spans nearly a century. However, its future is a bit cloudy after it was recently put up for sale. We check in with Trina Costantini-Powell, a Past President of the National Congress for Italian Canadians. She is also the grand-daughter of Giuseppe Costantini – who teamed up with a business partner to open the facility as a hotel in 1934. Meantime, our city has dealt with its fair share of nasty weather this Summer, as a trio of serious rainstorms has increased our collective blood pressure. All within a 6-week span, too.
