On this episode of "Voices of Taos," Tempo editor sits down for a conversation with Charlotte Keefe, one of the founders of Taos Onstage.
Taos Onstage is a community theatre group that was started in 2013, and they are now entering their 14th season. The group started small, performing in the mural rom of the old Taos County Courthouse. After performing at a variety of venues around town, as well as working virtually during the pandemic, they are now based out of the Wildflower Playhouse. The first play of the season will be "What the Constitution Means to Me," written by Heidi Schreck and directed by Charlotte Keefe. The show opens on October 22, 2026.
Lynne and Charlotte discuss how theatre has changed in Taos over the years, and how changing demographics have affected the casting process. They also talk about the Don Keefe Memorial Playwriting Contest, as well as the other plays planned for the upcoming season.
