The company, which renders bus services to the City of Johannesburg has parked its busses at its depot. Last Monday drivers downed tools following the non-payment of salaries due to a financial crisis allegedly faced by the company faces. A massive Mandrax operation has been uncovered at a secluded smallholding in Erasmia, west of Pretoria. Police say the suspected laboratory had the capacity to produce up to 800-thousand tablets a day. Two foreign nationals have been arrested, while investigators are now on underway to discover the alleged masterminds behind the operation. Musa Mhlongo reports.

Researchers at the University of the Free State say more could have been done to prevent the Jargersfontein mine dam wall collapse. The disaster claimed three lives and destroyed more than a hundred homes. 11 September marks four years since the tragedy occurred in 2022. According to research Associate, Phia van der Watt - hope was still breathing amongst the Jagersfontein residents in 2023, with the promise of good quality homes and a better future. However, after her last visit in 2025, van der Watt sense that all was lost.
