The uMkhonto weSizwe Party has called off a planned picket outside the venue where the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is holding a series of interviews to fill over 50 vacancies at various courts in South Africa. Today's interviews have begun as the commission seeks to fill three vacancies in the Supreme Court of Appeal, after the commission received a green light to proceed following the Gauteng High Court's dismissal of the MK party's application to have today's proceedings postponed. The party has indicated that it will explore other legal avenues after an earlier court ordered the exclusion of MK Parliamentary leader, Dr John Hlophe from participating in JSC activities.
