What is consciousness? From where does it arise? The brain? Some of it? All of it? Where does the brain finish and the mind begin? Is there a place where the mushy physical bit intersects with the non-physical bit? And what’s the difference between consciousness and awareness? Can you imagine looking inside someone’s skull (literally), operating on their brain and having a conversation with that person at the same time! Well, that’s a reality for Alex and to me, that shit is truly amazing. Anyway, the good Doc (let’s be accurate... Neurosurgeon) is obsessed with the brain, I’m obsessed with the mind and so this conversation was a conscious collision of obsessions. Enjoy.
