Dinesh Palipana (OAM) is an Australian Doctor working in the Gold Coast University Hospital Emergency Department. He’s also a Lawyer, Disability Advocate, University Lecturer and is the first person with a spinal cord injury to graduate as a Doctor in Australia. He is the 2021 Queensland, Australian of the Year, is an advocate for medical students with disabilities and is heavily involved in research to help people like him walk again. This episode is the audio from a talk Dinesh recently gave to an audience in one of my programs. It is relatively laid-back and more of a thinking-out-loud (type) conversation than it is any kind of ‘presentation’. I loved it and so did the group. In my work, I get to meet lots of intelligent, gifted, dynamic and successful people (and I’m super grateful) but I rarely meet people who are as special and inspirational as this man. He literally makes me want to be a better person. Enjoy.
