More recent compounds - like sugar alcohols and "keto" sweeteners - are framed as potentially more dangerous, with emerging research suggesting links to blood clots and cardiovascular risk. The core message in this episode is that there's no "free lunch" in biology - sweetness without energy comes with consequences. Which is personally very annoying, 'cause I inhale that sh*t.
