Over the last eighty years, sperm production by the average producer (there's a term) is down by about seventy-five percent; from 134 million sperm (per ml) on average in 1941, to less than 40 million (per ml) in recent times. Typical sperm production and ejaculate volume (hope you're not eating breakfast) are both way down and continue to plummet. According to David Gillespie, at our current trajectory, by 2040 the average bloke's sperm production will make him unviable for fatherhood. So why is this happening and what can we do about it?
