The trouble with trying to understanding consciousness (and more broadly, the mind), is that we can't see it, touch it, measure it, or quantify it. And in a field which is largely quantitatively driven (science), the science of the consciousness, is a source of great debate, disagreement, divergence and let's be honest, confusion. How can we observe, analyse and measure a non-physical thing? I loved this chat with Professor Philip Goff, who is a world-renowned philosopher, author and consciousness researcher at Durham University, UK (England's 3rd oldest university), who spends most of his time trying to work out the ultimate nature of reality and other fascinating shit (that last bit is not in his bio). Enjoy.
