President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the keynote address at today's National Women's Day commemoration at the Union Buildings in Pretoria. The event marks 70 years since more than 20-thousand women marched against apartheid pass laws. This year's theme is "Empowered Women, Empower Nations", with a focus on improving women's access to quality healthcare. Women's Month also highlights challenges facing women and efforts to advance empowerment and gender equality, while honouring leaders such as Lilian Ngoyi, whose struggles helped shape South Africa's democratic progress.
