Welcome back to another episode of the Space. Every January, we have the same social quandary, when do we stop saying Happy New Year? We get halfway into February and we're still repeating the phrase nearly Valentine's Day. Karen, let it go. It does shine a light on how our minds work.
How often do you talk on autopilot to other people and yourself when you wake up in the morning. What are the first words you say to yourself when you meet people? What are the first thoughts that go through your mind? What is your version of Happy New Year? They don't like me, I'm not good enough. I'm going to mess this up. I don't belong here. When you wake up in the morning, how do you greet yourself in the mirror? The phrases that we repeat on autopilot do matter, so how can we make them work for us? Take a few moments today to think about self greeting that would make you feel good. You don't have to go overboard, but at least make it neutral. I have nothing to complain about in this moment. Everything is fine. Today is a new I'm excited to see what might happen. The best thing is we can do it with each other. How can you switch up your New Year's greeting? Make it a little less cliched and make it more personal. I loved your post on Instagram about dot dot dot I've missed you in the last six months. Ask them how they've been since a certain event or milestone. The way we talk to ourselves and other people does have an impact. Even if you can't stay conscious for an entire conversation, make your first sentence matter.
