Two specific loss of lives in the past month has shaken us- one is Dr. Anurag Kumar the psychiatrist and other is Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput ( which is still under speculation/ investigation.) Both these suicides led to a huge social media uproar- one had a suicide note and depression attributed to it; the second one had no suicide note, but depression and other things are being attributed to it. The second suicide triggered other suicides. 
The suicide amidst the doctors has been the highest for a while- the figures (speculative/ internet) from the U.S are appalling- one suicide a day- 1 million suicide a year. We do not know the accurate figures from India. 

But the point that comes out of the discussion and social media uproar is - are we using the word "depression" the right way; and are there different kinds of depressions that can trigger a suicide besides "clinical depression". We also talk about IPC 306 - abetment to suicide. 
Can we as a society be more aware of each other and be more empathetic to prevent suicide?
