Chef Keith Rutsonjo was born in
Lulekani, Phalaborwa and matriculated at the Vuxeni
High School in 2003.
He then went on to study towards a Bcom degree in
Economics through UNISA while working as a waiter.
Chef Keith started working as a Sushi Chef between
2010 and 2014, before completing his Bcom
Economics degree still in 2014.
However, Chef Keith decided to focus on his passion
for food and in 2015, he became a Barista, preparing
and serving espresso-based coffee drinks, as well as
being a Shop Assistant.
Chef Keith’s passion for preparing sushi, got the best
of him and he went back to being a Sushi Chef.
In February of 2018, Chef Keith realized that many
functions lacked sushi catering and that there was a
need for this delicious Japanese meal to be included at
these events.
He then went through the painful process of putting
every needed ingredient together using the experience
he had accumulated over 10 years, and he started his
own mobile sushi bar called Chopstick SA.
Under Chopstick SA, Chef Keith offers quality sushi
and caters at corporate functions, weddings, private
parties, festivals, markets & he also offers sushi
lessons.
