G'day cyberspacers!

We hope you're faring well out there.

A fun episode this week with our good friend Christina The Astonishing joining us for the whole program to celebrate week 4 of 3MDR's annual radiothon.

A massive thank you to all the supporters out there signing up as subscribers to help keep 3MDR on the community radio airwaves for another 12 months.  We really do appreciate it.

We spun a heap of tunes this week as all of us here on The Imaginary Friends Show simply love music.  We firmly believe that a world without music doesn't bear thinking about.  We are so blessed to be surrounded by wonderful local, and not so local, talent.   Sooooooo many songs, so little time.

Christina has a mighty fine and varied taste in music and slotted in some bangers throughout the morning.   Alas our Silent Panel Operator's note taking is of a lackluster standard that the following playlist will be inaccurate as to the order of the tunes played this morning.....We'll tap Christina The Astonishing's list of tunes at the end of the playlist but they were dotted throughout the morning.

Playlist: Track - Artist - Album

Melbourne Town - Neil Murray - Dust

Pretty Good Day - Martha Wainwright - Outliers

The Magnificent Moon – Mildlife - Phase

New Mellow - The Seven Ups - The Seven Ups

Counting The Days – Stimpies - Counting The Days

Hola cyberspacers,

We hope you're faring well out there and you've got a spring in your step now that spring has sprung.

We were delighted to host Antoinette Pitt for an hour and a half this morning.  Ant is having a crack at making a change to state politics and is running as an independent candidate in the Victorian state election for the upper house for East Vic.  Ant is promoting a platform of Kindness Courage & Change.....much need we thinks with the two major parties seemingly serving corporations instead of the people they've been elected to  represent.

As an independent, Ant isn't backed by corporate donors and is running a grass roots campaign to raise funds and awareness.  We encourage you to explore options outside of two party politics and get involved.  Visit Ant's website to find out more https://www.kindcouragechange.com/

The Imaginary Friends Show 25th August 2026

Broadcasting from the historic Forest Park Homestead studio in the township of Upwey, an hour east of Melbourne Victoria, Peej, Elliot and maybe even Elaine hope you enjoy some nonsensical ramblings interspersed with great tunes to tap the toes to. We love independent Australian music and spin tunes from local artists over the 3 hours...Sometimes we are lucky enough to have a live performance on the show....quite rare given that 6am is not the friendliest of times for musos...but you never know....

Elliot will be in to do the weather so you know what to wear....but remember if you're listening to an earlier episode, please do not base your wardrobe decisions on this idiot's interpretation of the Australian Government's Bureau of Meteorology website....and maybe even Elaine will do a half arsed surf report when she remembers....

Occasionally there may be a little dead air....our silent panel operator who we shall not name is responsible for all dead air....he considers dead air helps you absorb a musical bracket before we open our mouths and ramble on....

Join us live on community radio 3MDR 97.1fm every Tuesday morning from 6am or enjoy previous episodes via this show page....

We love a bit of involvement from the community whether they be listening live on 97.1fm or via the wonders of modern technologies available to access this thing they call the information super highway......what will they think of next!?

Request a tune, express your delight, or disappointment, in Elliot's weather report......or just have a random chat with an imaginary friend......so super easy...... you can contact Peej or Elliot or maybe even Elaine through cyberspace at peejandelliot@gmail.com
