With Queensland's State of Origin Game Two team already named, The Big Marn shared his in-depth thoughts on the Maroons' selections.

We'll get to Nick Ashman in just a second. On the Daily Cherry Evans dumping or acting whatever you want to call it, garry or a Queen's landing or paunch. Well, I said yesterday, Lebe, I think you deserve another opportunity. I think he's got enough credits in the bank to give him another game, but they've decided to go against him. I will say this. I thot Tom Didon was great when he came on for Queensland in game game one, but I am a bit surprised that they got rid of him. It's a tough thing to do being a coach, and it's a tough thing to get rid of players. And it's an even tough I think, to get rid of someone who's got the you know the history that Daily Cherry Evans has been your captain as well. It's a really difficult thing to do. I see they're not going to name their captain that I read until Tuesday tomorrow.

I don't know.

I just don't understand why that is. Why would you stop? You know what? It probably is Maybe so they don't get two more days of criticism, maybe, but I find it a bit strange. Yeah, at the end of the day many times up, your times up, I suppose. And he's had a great run. I think twenty six State of Origin matches. That's more than shearly anyone. It's a tremendous record he's got. He I think he's it appears as always taken it with great dignity. I heard that him and Billy had a conversation and Billy said he he handled it really well. I mean, he obviously knew it was coming. But you know, it's never an easy task. It couldn't have been easy for Billy and it wouldn't be easy for Daily Cherry Evans, who's been a wonderful Queensland player and captain for a long time. So, you know, great respect for Daily Cherry Evans for what he's done for Queensland. And just on Billy.

This is what he had to say today about the action of Daily Cherry Evans. Yeah, obviously Daily wanted to play and he was disappointed that he wasn't going to get the opportunity. But yeah, he took the news with, you know, with great character and yeah, a great respect. You know, we had a good conversation. We've got a great relationship. I played alongside Daily, you know, been the coach and he's been the captain over the last four years, and you know we've shared some great memories and he's done some really good things. He's he's held the trophy up you know, three of the last five years and he's been an instrumental part of that. So, yeah, they're tough conversations, but it was one that was had with a lot of respect.
