For more than four decades, Subry Govender used journalism not merely as a profession, but as a weapon against injustice. He worked during some of the darkest years of apartheid South Africa - the 1970s, the 1980s and the early 1990s - when telling the truth came at a heavy personal cost. In an era where digital headlines often flicker and fade, Aathika Khan, a standout graduate of Holy Rosary’s Class of 2025, has used her final matric art portfolio to freeze time, forcing the viewer to look - truly look - at the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Achieving a staggering 91% for Visual Arts – the highest in the grade - and earning a place in the school’s Top 20 students, Aathika’s work transcends the classroom. With an overall average of 81% and four distinctions (Visual Arts, History, Life Orientation, and Afrikaans), she has proven that academic excellence and deep emotional intelligence go hand-in-hand.

Reddam House Umhlanga set the bar high by achieving an average aggregate of 75.53%. A total of 264 distinctions were secured across the cohort, with an outstanding 75% of candidates gaining an A or B aggregate, showcasing their academic consistency. Seven standout scholars from Reddam House earned placements in the IEB's Outstanding and Commendable national rankings, underscoring both campuses’ unwavering commitment to holistic excellence and sustained academic depth.
