One of my biggest fears is that people will take a sense of complacency in average advice provided by "financial experts". Seeing numbers thrown around about how much you need to retire are often fraught with dangers as these numbers appear to be extremely low and don't create a future of financial freedom but frightening financial poverty.

To take this worry of mine further, I also worry that the realisation of this average advice is realised too late in life. When we don't have the time or energy left to fix this gap.

So instead of sitting on my hands in silence, I felt the need to speak up, share my concerns and give you more information and things to consider so that you can understand the work needed, see the opportunity and get greater clarity about what is important to you.
