First up, the Tony-award winning “Water for Elephants” continues its run at the Nederlander Theatre through July 5th.  Andrea talks to one of the stars of the show, Ruby Gibbs who plays Barbara about this moving production, the real-life death-defying circus, trapeze, and aerial acts that you’ll see as well as how she’s enjoying reconnecting with family and friends in Chicago. Next, get ready to step back in time at the “Good Night John Boy” club, restaurant, bar and speakeasy!  Director of Operations Ramsey Hijjawi talks about this nightclub and disco space in the West Loop that is “your grandma’s basement meets studio 54”! You can dance til dawn to tunes from the 60’s, 70’s at 80’s at this groovy new space! Michigan Avenue is once again being transformed into an open air museum with larger-than-life sculptures of swimmers and divers gracing the Mag Mile from the Chicago River all the way up to Oak Street.  Andrea talks with Arica Hilton, the owner of the Hilton Contemporary Gallery about Carole Feuerman’s monumental life-like sculptures, which have graced the Eiffel Tower and the city of Beijing.  They’re not only gorgeous and historical, but the perfect Instagramable moment.  Information:  hiltoncontemporary.com

 

Finally, we introduce you to “Creative Root” at the DePaul Theater School.  Andrea talks to Director Mechelle Moe about this wonderful arts and education program now in its 6th year that brings theatre into the classrooms - from kindergarteners all the way through high school students.  Theatre 360 introduces students to characters, themes, acting, costume and set design.
