The 2nd annual Edgewater Music Fest is back and is fast becoming one of the city’s most popular and well-attended street festivals.  More than 30 music acts, hundreds of street vendors and local food and breweries will line Broadway near the Red Line Aug 28-30th.  Edgewater Chamber of Commerce Director Garrett Karp joins Andrea to talk about some of the bands performing this year including Girl K, North By North, and Neptune’s Core!  Information: Edgewatermusicfest.org

As Rosemont celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, the new Donald E. Chicago’s only chalk art festival Chalk Howard Street takes place this Saturday, August 22nd from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Andrea talks to Rogers Park Business Alliance Executive Director Sandi Price about Chicago’s only chalk art festival!  This is a free, immersive experience for the public to interact with and create street art, featuring nationally renowned 3D and 2D chalk artists, live music, kids drawing, food, drinks and more! On September 12th, the Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education (CAPE) will host its first annual ARTJOY gala to support its mission of transforming education through art in Chicagoland public schools.  Andrea talks to Executive Director Amy Rasmussen about CAPE’s mission: partnering with artists, educators, and schools to bring arts-integrated learning to Chicagoland public school students.
