About 24 million people in Africa have diabetes, set to at least double in the next 20years – but only about 15 of what the world pays towards diabetes care is spent in Africa. In South Africa, insulin pens are running low and, Novo Nordisk earlier this year decided to stop supplying the health department due to “capacity limitations”.
