The African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council (PSC) will convene its 1245th session to consider the Post-Election Situation in Mozambique, as an emergency session prompted by the post-election violence in Mozambique.  Thabiso Kotane speaks to Research Fellow at the Thabo Mbeki school of Public and International Affairs (UNISA).

EMERGENCY SESSION ON THE POST-ELECTION VIOLENCE IN MOZAMBIQUE

Despite promises of reform and system upgrades, the financial crisis facing Gauteng health department has not improved, with it owing 69 suppliers for more than a year and 125 for more than six months.  The department owed suppliers a staggering R743 million for over a year. A total of R117 million had been overdue for more than six months. Thabiso Kotane speaks DA Shadow MEC for Health, Jack Bloom.

Following two hearings of a matter between the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) and Eskom Holding SOC LTD, the municipality welcomes the High Court decision ordering the power utility to suspend the Writ of attachment of its bank accounts since the decision was unconstitutional, unlawful and invalid from the start.   Thabiso Kotane speaks to Emfuleni Local Municipality spokesperson, Makhosonke Sangweni.
