SA Rugby planned to sell a 20% stake in a new commercial-rights company for $75 million to Seattle-based Ackerley Sports Group LLC. However, the organization postponed the vote after a request from South African Sports, Arts, and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie for more government briefings on the proposal, without providing a new date for the ballot. This deal aims to leverage the Springboks' recent successes, having won the last two Rugby World Cups and the Southern Hemisphere’s Rugby Championship last month.
