Day of Goodwill/Boxing Day is believed and treated as an extension to Christmas but the history behind this holiday holds stories of colonialism and british traditions. In British tradition, people would ‘box’ their christmas gifts in a way that held sentiment. On the other hand, Boxing Day was significant to British people because it was a day servants were allowed to go home to see their families after serving their masters on Christmas.We are in conversation with Adv. The twinkling lights, classic films on every channel, and Christmas carols are all symbols that can inspire the best feelings in the world, but they can also feel oppressive when we’re finding it difficult to catch the spirit. Feeling lonely around the holidays can make us feel as if something is wrong with us. Everybody else seems to know how to be happy, how to be together, how to be festive, merry, and bright. But feeling lonely around the holidays is extremely common. And even more so during this year of isolation. We are in conversation with Clinical Psychologist, Mzamo Mbuli.
